eNewsletters – The practice of forced female genital mutilation worries Chanel Ayan. The Bravo actress issued a warning against the damaging habit after tearfully divulging a weighty piece of information about her history in the episode of "The Real Housewives of Dubai" airing on Wednesday, August 17.

The 40-year-old reality personality called the practice "torture and abuse" in a statement to E! News. The Bravolebrity disclosed that she and her sister were forced to get female circumcisions in order to keep their virginity until marriage, a practice that is still common in various regions of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

According to Chanel, "I'm a survivor." "I felt as though my family and culture had completely betrayed me. It is simply inhumane for young females to be subjected to such a treatment. I experienced it 35 years ago, and I still struggle with it today."

"In my culture, it's done to keep ladies virgins," the fashion model continued when asked about the practice. Added she, "Because of this, in my society, everyone is a virgin. Because if you're made to behave like a female until you get married, how can you have sex? Men can remain content in this way."

In addition to the ongoing physical suffering she had during her adolescence and teenage years, it also left her with deep emotional wounds. According to Chanel, "I believe the trauma is something I will deal with for the rest of my life." "This is why I want to talk about it; I genuinely don't want anyone else to experience this because I am aware of how unpleasant it is. Numerous young girls pass away, hormones are out of balance, and many females experience depression."

In the most recent episode of the Bravo show, Chanel first talked openly about the horrible experience. She sobbed as she admitted during hypnosis that she and her older sister had been circumcised as infants and that their parents were unaware of it.

Holding co-star Dr. Sara Al-hand, Madani's Chanel said to the therapist, "When we were five years old, my aunt and my grandma came to pick us up to take us to another place. I had no idea where I was going when they took us to this man's house the following morning at 6 a.m. They simply tied us to the bed and performed the circumcision there.

a sentimental Chanel went into further detail while describing her emotional and bodily wounds. She revealed, "We were bound in the legs." She continued, "A guy brutally "she had her genitalia sewn up, adding, "Couldn't pee. unable to move. They would carry us and place us on the grass when we needed to relieve ourselves. My mother was completely unaware of what was happening to us, and I just had no idea what the hell was going on."

Chanel confessed that she had at last found forgiveness for those who had injured her as the session came to a close. For the first time in her life, she remarked, "I've decided to forgive them and accept what happened to me." "I still have a great deal of life to live and a great deal of love to give myself."
